Many enjoy the unique taste of shrimp but are often hesitant to make it at home. The truth is shrimp is one of the simplest shellfish to cook. The key is to use flavorful seasoning to enhance its taste and mask any unpleasant flavors, resulting in delicious shrimp.

Pan seared Shrimp

These are the ingredients you will need to make this delicious pan seared shrimp dish

  • 1/2 pound of medium white shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Stella Savory Delight Seasoning
  • 1/2 tablespoon of unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (optional for garnishing)
  • Lemon wedges (optional for garnishing)

Cooking Instructions

  • Prepare the shrimp:
    • Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to ensure a perfect sear.
    • Season the shrimp with Stella’s Savory Delight seasoning. Savory Delight is an all-purpose seasoning. Its blend brings smoked paprika from Spain and Mexican oregano from Mexico, among other spices. Stella will handle the seasoning for this dish, so you won’t have to worry about mixing a bunch of spices. Allow the flavors to meld for 10 minutes.
  • Heat the pan:
    • Place a heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat.
    • Add olive oil and let it shimmer, ensuring an even coating across the pan.
    • Adjust the fire if needed; we want to sear and cook the shrimp, not burn it! 😉
  • Sear the shrimp:
    • Carefully place the seasoned shrimp in the hot pan, ensuring they are not touching.
    • Allow each side to sear for 3-5 minutes, or until they develop a golden crust and turn pink. Keep a close eye on the shrimp, and peek a little if you have to, we don’t judge in Stella’s kitchen, but if you see the shrimp browning too much, flip it!
  • Bring the aromatics:
    • Lower the heat to low, add minced garlic to the pan, and sauté briefly until fragrant.
    • Be on guard, and prevent the garlic from burning, as it can impart bitterness.
  • Finish with butter:
    • Introduce unsalted butter to the pan, swirling it around to coat the shrimp evenly.
  • This step adds luscious richness to the dish, elevating the flavor profile.
  • Garnish and serve:
    • Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley or cilantro ( or nothing ) over the shrimp for a burst of color and freshness.
