Chili Lime Shrimp Tacos – The formula
Indulge your taste buds! These mouthwatering tacos are bursting with bold flavors, combining succulent shrimp with zesty chili and a kiss of lime. Quick, easy, and perfect for any occasion, these tacos will win the crowd.
What makes this recipe so easy is how we go about adding flavor. To prepare delicious shrimp, you typically need to use a variety of ingredients such as garlic, cumin, paprika, black pepper, and a few other herbs and spices.
However, in our recipe, we use our expertly crafted all-purpose seasoning blend, which expertly combines different flavors to create a unique taste experience. Savory Delight combines different flavors to create a unique taste experience.
Put simply, our seasoning is perfectly balanced to bring multiple flavors to dishes such as shrimp.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined ( come on, FRESH! )
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Stella’s Savory Delight ( to taste, but a light coat will do )
- 1 teaspoon chili powder or Stella’s Sweet Fire
- Zest and juice of 2 limes
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 8 small flour or corn tortillas
Instructions:
1. Season the Shrimp:
- In a bowl, combine/mix shrimp, olive oil, Savory Delight (a light coat should do), chili powder, or Stella’s Sweet Fire ( for heat ).
- Add the zest and juice of 1 lime, ensuring the shrimp are well-coated.
- Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors meld.
2. Cook the Shrimp:
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through, allowing them to caramelize. This cooking method is similar to searing shrimp but with different flavors.
3. Prepare the Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix the juice of the remaining lime with chopped cilantro to create a refreshing topping sauce.
4. Plate the Tacos:
- Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
- Spoon a generous portion of the chili lime shrimp onto each tortilla.
- Drizzle the lime-cilantro sauce over the shrimp.
5. Garnish and Serve:
- Garnish with additional cilantro, lime wedges, and your favorite taco toppings.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the explosion of flavors in every bite!
Other Ways of adding heat (besides Chili Powder)
In this recipe, I used our very own Sweet Fire seasoning, which adds a nice amount of heat and a bit of sweetness. The heat comes from fresh, pure, and high-quality chipotle pepper, one of the main ingredients in Sweet Fire. However, you can use chili or red pepper flakes to taste. You can also use other peppers, like jalapeno, and this pepper can change the flavor profile of the dish a bit
Garnishing and extra toppings
You can add complexity to this and more flavor by spending an extra few minutes chopping some red onions, avocado, and tomatoes with a pinch of salt. The red onions will add beautiful color, and when combined with the tomatoes, they will also add a bit of extra acidity to the dish.
Feel free to experiment with different types of cheeses and sauces to complement this taco dish.
